As Lab Technician Genetics you will be responsible for the improvement of microbial strains for biotech applications using your skills in microbiology, microbiology and strain engineering. Your responsibilities include:
- Organize and independently perform experimental work related to microbial screening and strain development
- You make use of different molecular laboratory techniques such as cloning, transformation, PCR, genome engineering and classical methods. In these experiments you will work with yeast, fungi and bacteria
- Processing and interpretation of experimental data, write experimental reports (English), and in-house presenting of technical data
- You are able to understand technical issues and support the strain development scientist to optimize screening and strain development processes and protocols
- Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues from strain development, fermentation, down-stream processes, application and analysis
- Being a professional you keep up with developments in your field of expertise and contribute to the professional know-how of the department
