As a Fulltime Product Developer for The Vegetarian Butcher at Unilever Wageningen, you will be creating delicious products with a team!
What are you going to do:
The R&D team at Unilever Wageningen is looking for a Product Developer to work on new products for The Vegetarian Butcher. As a member of the R&D team, the product developer will be involved in new innovations, renovations, and 5S-related projects. It is important that this position is filled by a person who is highly passionate in creating sustainable meat replacements and appreciates industrial recipe creation.
Responsibilities (among others):
- Support/Deliver formulation workstream in New Tech projects;
- Execute the Net Zero roadmap and perform root-cause analyses for product design challenges;
- Develop product formulations according to business briefs, processability and safety requirements;
- Perform product and ingredient physical-chemical analyses;
- Ensure high quality documentation of work in available software systems;
- Support implementation of formulations in the sourcing unit through pilot plant and plant trials;
Profile
We are looking for someone entrepreneurial, energetic and analytical, who stands with the vision and mission of The Vegetarian Butcher. You embrace change, are curious, learn rapidly and adapt easily. Additionally, you are lab-experienced, communicatively strong and effective, work well in a team, and have the ability to work in a multi-functional/-cultural environment.
What we offer:
- A monthly wage of between € 3000,- and € 3700,- (before tax);
- Travel cost reimbursement;

What we ask:
- At least finished hbo HBO, Masters degree in the area of Food Technology/Chemical Engineering/Process Engineering or related;
- Minimum 1 years of relevant professional experience and knowledge of and experience with Texturized Vegetable Proteins and/or Meat Processing as an advantage;
- Good communication skills and fluently in English;
- Technical mindset applied to solutions, eye for detail, and analytical thinking.
